Ranger Finance will now be liquidated after the proposal, "Liquidate Ranger Finance", citing material misrepresentation of revenue and trading volume prior to its ICO, was approved through a decision market.

The Liquidate Ranger Finance decision market closed with a clear approval. The pass TWAP settled at $0.73 versus a fail TWAP of $0.66 which was a 9.5% spread against a 3% pass threshold (passed by 6.46%). With the market clearing the TWAP threshold, the DAO will now unwind protocol owned liquidity, consolidate treasury assets, and distribute the remaining USDC proportionally to eligible tokenholders based on a snapshot.
$584k in total volume moved through the market across 237 trades from 57 unique wallets. Of that, 80.8% of volume and 70.9% of trades landed within the TWAP window, the period that actually counts for pricing. The pass side captured 66.1% of volume and 59.8% of trader participation.
About Volume
The market was quiet early and loud late. 73.2% of total volume arrived in the final 24 hours of the TWAP window. In the pre-TWAP period (the first 24 hours), there was 19.2% of total volume. But that volume was heavily pass-aligned, setting the tone for the remainder of the trading window. The mid-period (24h-48h from close) was the quietest stretch at 7.5%. We aren’t exactly sure what the market was waiting for, as fail-aligned capital only arrived later.
Whale Activity
The single largest position in the market was $142k pass-sell across 17 trades from one wallet, which was a stance against approval. That wallet (5e5e…xz5) sold pass tokens throughout the TWAP window, amassing the highest individual volume share at 24.4% of total market activity. Unfortunately for the fail-side, trader 5e5e…xz5 only started positioning heavily in the final 24 hours of the TWAP window with $129k worth of trades in the final 24 hours. The proposal passed anyway.
The trader most aligned with the approved outcome was x1QV…7BxS with $124k in fail-sell positions. This was 21.3% of market volume from 5 trades, predominantly in the TWAP window.
Net economic alignment across all 57 wallets landed at +$33k in favor of approval, despite the largest single position, a $88k fail-sell order, running counter to the result. The market aggregated toward the outcome even with whale opposition.
Spot $RNGR Price
Conditional markets don't operate in isolation from spot prices and this proposal is an example. Before the proposal was published on March 3, $RNGR spot price sat at ~$0.48, but once the proposal was published this quickly changed. In the proposal details it was estimated that the recoverable value per token was between $0.75-$0.82. Some traders then bid $RNGR to capture spread between spot and assumed liquidation value per token, driving the spot price up to around $0.65 within hours.
Also, when the proposal went live, several wallets immediately bid pass-buy with decent size pushing up the probability of the proposal passing. Over time, this pulled the spot price even closer to the estimated liquidation value per token.
Long-Term Holder Participation
The top pass-aligned wallets were not new holders attempting to force a liquidation event. Several had supported Ranger Finance since the ICO or shortly thereafter. Trader x1QV…7BxS, responsible for roughly $124k in pass-aligned volume, for example, began accumulating $RNGR just two days after the ICO. And trader 65h6…CWUo with about $80k in pass-aligned volume contributed $200k during the ICO and continued accumulating tokens afterward. Several other ICO participants were also aligned with the approved outcome. While some traders may have positioned themselves to capture a spread between spot price and expected redemption value, the largest pass-aligned wallets appear to have been early supporters who ultimately lost trust in the team.
What This Demonstrates
The Liquidate Ranger Finance market passed with conviction. A 9.5% TWAP spread against a 3% threshold and 66% of volume on the pass side shows the market was convicted on passing the proposal and the data reflects that.
The spot price context reinforces this. The conditional market prices anchored close to the estimated liquidation value of $0.75–$0.82, suggesting traders were willing to push the price up to treasury value.
The TWAP mechanism held under concentrated selling pressure. One wallet representing 24% of total volume traded against the approved outcome and did not move the price enough. capital weighting matters in these markets, but collective pricing conviction across time and participants outweighed it.
